MODEL SETUP INFORMATION...
MM5 12h forecast is used as first guess in MM5 36h
forecast (WARM start).
(MM5 12h forecast is generated from AVN [1.0 X 1.0]
analyses and forecasts, COLD start).
AVN [1.0 X 1.0] is used as boundary conditions in
MM5 36h forecast.
Superfine grid resolution is 12 km (91 x 127 grid points).
Fine grid resolution is 36 km (49 x 61 grid points).
Coarse grid resolution is 108 km (59 x 59 grid points).
30 vertical levels (all grids).
Anthes-Kuo CPS (coarse grid, 108 km).
Kain-Fritsch CPS (fine and superfine grids, 36 and 12 km).
MRF PBL (all grids).
Multiquadric interpolation (2D) is used to convert first guess grid
fields and observations to MM5 grid fields.
Model output GIF images appear on this site by the following times:

The Mesoscale Model Version 5 (MM5V2.12) has been developed and supported
by researchers at Penn State and at the National Center for
Atmospheric Research (NCAR). This model is available to the public
